Daddy and Silas did a 27 mile bile ride on Seattle’s best day of the year. We started in Fremont and headed the full length of the Burke Gilman to Marymoor Park in Redmond. The closed section of the Burke Gilman Trail wan’t too bad. We climbed up to Bothell Way in just a few minutes and then we cruised down a fast but moderate grade back to the trail. There was one difficult part of the closed section though. Apparently it’s assumed that stairs make an excellent addition to a bicycle and trailer journey. Nope, stairs and bike trailers are terrible. So, we took Silas out, took the trailer off and carried it up the stairs. Then we went back down to get the bike. It was a pain, but no worse than the construction on Dexter Ave. We had a great journey overall with stops at a variety of parks, highlighted by a dip in the lake at Matthews Beach. Mommy finally met us at the end of the trail for this picture under the totem at Marymoor Park. We then headed over to Steve and Rachel’s for a great backyard BBQ.
